I need a portable generator to power a chainsaw to cut trees and to power tv, light, stove, etc. while on a camping trip.

I am looking for something cheap under 0 and ships to California. For some reason most online retailers don’t ship to CA.

Would this be a choice?

I need to build 2 very basic generators for a IISEF project i have in the works, and i need to know which is more important to consider when looking ate magnets.

1) Is the pull force the most important
or
2) Is the area the magnet covers (and therefor the magnetic field area) more important.

There are lots of places to find methods of making small generators that use permanent magnets, but I have always wondered how they do it when there aren’t any such magnets available.

A motor can work as a motor AND a generator if you can spin the metal stick on the top fast enough.

Since generators use magnets , my question is that will a generator still generate electric power in the presence of an external magnetic field?

Just like the potato or lemon used as electric generator, but it’s common already. I’m looking for possible and unique ideas I can use for my science investigatory project.

I want a book that has some different designs for making electric generators from things like old exercise bikes, fan blades for wind power, low cost solar panels, or any other kind of alternative energy that is easily produced from the home, and with recycled or low cost materials. How to store the energy would also be a plus. All I can seem to find are book specifically for one type of alternative power(i.e. just solar, or just wind). I’m hoping there is something out there that is more like what I have described.
Well I was more hoping just for a book that shows simple electrical hook ups to say turn an old exercise bike into a generator of sorts. Things like that. I assumed old fans, and such wouldn’t produce very much energy, but If I use an exercise bike for an hour every day anyway I thought it would be cool to harness, store, and use some of that power to watch TV while im on the bike, or turn a radio on for a few hours or something along those lines. Just like those new crank radios.

I heard they can save you having to pay your hydro bill??? I don’t have enough money to pay my bill so a different way of getting energy to power my home would be nice that didn’t cost anything?

I will like to know how I can make a home made electric generator. I know you can buy them today for cheap but I tought it would be a fun project.

I am trying to find a formula to calculate the power of an electric generator, based on are of coils, dimeter of wire (if it matters), rotational speed and so on. I am building one to hook up to a bike and i would like to be able to have a formula to predict voltage given all the parameters.

Would the construction be the same for an AC/DC generator (what’s the difference between the two?)?
On a side note, what’s the difference between an electric generator and an electric motor? Thanks a lot.

What would be some factors that would contribute to the amount of current produced by an electric generator?

I recently purchased a Razor Pocket Mod and want to ride longer and maybe travel some where. I was thinking I could use a electric generator. I don’t know if that would work or what type of generator.
