Gosh – is it wise to give incredible political power to a man whose stated goal is to BANKRUPT THE COAL INDUSTRY causing the price of electricity to rise astronomically?

I would hope the folks in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia would hear this… along with all of us that pay electric bills. However, I am thinking these guys are all so brain-washed that the facts really don’t matter any more. Those of us who see this guy for who he really is need to begin to plan… I believe we should begin to form a network of realists who know the true direction our country is headed… we need to be able to communicate and ready to act when Obama starts to take away our freedoms. We have to support one another in order to survive… file me away in your contact list. By the middle of next year, folks will be wondering why they believed in him.

Obama is doing this because he wants us to continue to give 700 billion dollars a year to his mid-eastern Muslim comrades.
His goal isn’t to bankrupt the coal industry…

I use solar and wind, not dirty coal, to power my house. So yes, I think we should definitly vote out old king cole.
Fossil fuel technology is centuries old. If it hasn’t been subsidized by the republican party for so long, our society would have long ago moved on to new, better and cheaper technology.
And we’d still have our polar ice caps.

Obama doesn’t want this.. that.. and particularly Nuclear Power Plants. Basically, if he cannot find something that does work before he turns everything off, a lot of old folks are going to die.

A typical Republican distortion. Why are you guys so dishonest? It’s digusting that your churches don’t teach you better. In the whole interview, he talks about the future of coal saying things like, ""But this notion of no coal, I think, is an illusion… If we set rigorous standards for the allowable emissions, we can allow the market to determine, and technology and entrepreneurs to pursue, what’s the best approach to take." And that we need to invest in clean coal technologies to make coal a viable product for the future.

I haven’t watched the clip. But, I’ll give my opinion on this energy issue.
We should drill offshore and do alot of it and make that a major priority to get the offshore oil fields producing as quickly as possible.
Why I say this is simply we need to use our own oil as we develop new more efficient cheaper solar, wind and nuclear power for our country.
We need to license and build new oil refineries to refine this offshore oil and build them in locations that will not be affected by hurricanes and tropical storms. We’ve all witnessed the run up in prices at the pump when our gulf shore located refineries have to shut down to affect repairs after a storm hits.
I know one Chemist who has made it her career to develop a clean burning fuel from coal that could be used to power trucks, automobiles. However, the BIG 3 autoproducers will not invest in developing the engines necessary to burn this fuel.
The united states possesses more coal than any other nation on earth. We need to use it not let it lay dormant underground.
I’ve already voted in this election. I just hope the congress gets off their do nothing butts and starts passing some comprehensive energy bills that will do some good for this country.
Every presidential candidate since 1974 has promised energy legislation and not a single 1 has come forward with anything that will solve or even help in the least bit to reduce our demand on foreign oil.
